PSYCHOEDUCATION

Center for Abused Persons (CAP) also provides psychological education--also known as "psychoeducation"--on intimate partner violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and healthy relationships. Psychoeducation services offer clients the opportunity to learn more about the dynamics and impact of interpersonal violence. CAP especially recommends psychoeducation services to survivors/victims who are not ready for or interested in counseling, survivors/victims who already have a counselor at another agency, and concerned parties who would like to better understand the experiences of loved ones who have endured abuse.

Prospective psychoeducation clients should expect a limited (as opposed to ongoing) number of one-hour sessions that feature instruction on and discussion of relevant topics. To schedule a psychoeducation intake appointment or to learn more about pricing, please call 301-645-3336.
